چکیده:

Dental Damages are major problems in dentistry and the restoration can take place by adding different materials as filler to eliminate them. Bis-GMA composites act an important role to address these problems. This polymeracts as a matrix for nanoparticles such as SiO2 and TiO2. In the present paper, the Bis-GMA/TiO2 nanocomposites were produced. For this purpose TiO2 nanoparticles with different content (i. e., 0, 0.5 and 1 wt%) were dispersed in the dilutedpurchased dental composite matrix and finally the nanocomposite were molded and cured by ultraviolet light. In order to find out the role of TiO2 content on tensile properties of Bis-GMA, tensile test was performed at constant strain rate androom temperature. Microscopic evaluations were done to clarify the deformation of Bis-GMA in the presence of TiO2. The results of tensile test showed that the trend of stress-strain curve for all materials including Bis-GMA and itsnanocomposites are similar. An increase in tensile strength of Bis-GMA observed as TiO2 content increased. For example, tensile strength would change from 25 MPa to 41 MPa by increasing TiO2 nano particles from 0 to 1wt%.
